Invento Robotics Develops Astra Robot to Combat COVID-19

Invento Robotics has developed a robot called Astra, which uses UV-C radiation to disinfect environments within a few minutes. The technology is especially useful in the fight against COVID-19, as it can help to prevent the spread of the virus by purifying the air and surfaces in enclosed spaces such as malls, offices, hospitals, and banks.

Invento Robotics was founded by Balaji Vishwanathan, Bharat Kumar Dandu and Mahalakshmi Radhakrishnan, and has been in operation for around four years. The company is focused on the design, production, and service of robots, and is working on making the robot's services and spare parts available to customers.

In addition to the Astra robot, Invento Robotics has also developed another robot called Mitra, which is used for screening patients while Astra is used for disinfecting rooms. The Mitra robot is designed to recognize and make video calls through face detection, and is equipped with autonomous navigation capabilities. It is also capable of recognizing and responding to questions in Indian languages.

The Astra robot was unveiled by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Global Entrepreneur Summit in Hyderabad, and was well received by attendees including Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former U.S. President Donald Trump. The robot's development and production were carried out entirely in India, making it a true example of domestic innovation.
